GRY 348 - Web GIS

Foundational concepts of developing interactive mapping content for access via the web, including through desktop, laptop and mobile devices. Prerequisite: GRY 324. (4 cr. hr.)
Frequency code C = offered at least once every two years

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain concepts and methods used for developing web-based GIS maps, apps and web services, including data, technical and cartographic aspects.
  2. Demonstrate skill in developing web GIS applications for data visualization and data collection.
  3. Explain examples of application of web GIS for government services, business and environmental monitoring.
  4. Develop and assess the utility of a web GIS application.
