ESL 303 - English Grammar for TESOL

Surveys English grammar from a three-dimensional perspective (structure, meaning and use), follows a descriptive approach and emphasizes grammatical issues typically observed in the language produced by English learners. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Demonstrate knowledge of parts of speech and English syntax.
2. Demonstrate knowledge of ENL (English as a New Language) grammar.
3. Explain grammatical issues (as related to form, meaning, and context of use) to ELLs (English language learners).
