BIO 430 - Pathology The pathological basis of human disease, including cell death, inflammation and repair, cancer, as well as selected diseases from all major body systems. Excludes infectious and genetic diseases. Prerequisites: BIO 305 or 324 or 514 or permission of instructor. Lecture/Lab Hours: Three lectures. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.) Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Apply biomedical terminology to effectively communicate about the pathology of human disease.
- Recognize the fundamental basis to human diseases including cell death, inflammation and cancer.
- Explain the pathogenesis of major human diseases in all body systems from a macroscopic and microscopic perspective, including modern imaging to make diagnoses.
