Structure, functioning of human community in defined areal units: neighborhood, town, city, region, international region. Prerequisite: SOC 100 or 150 or ANT 102. Fulfills: LASR. Notes: Category B.(3 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe the varied constituents that combine to create community.
  2. Analyze the influence of global processes on local communities.
  3. Evaluate social, cultural, economic, and political factors that impact the construction of community.
