GRY 215 - Geography of Travel and Tourism

The spatial analysis of international travel and tourism. The use of such geographical techniques as mapping and quantitative analysis to describe and predict the origins and destinations of the world's tourists. The study of physical and cultural landscapes as major tourism resources in countries around the world. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and explain terms and concepts from the field of international tourism.
  2. Use basic concepts of geospatial analysis as it pertains to international tourism.
  3. Identify and explain the physical and cultural landscapes that are major tourist attractions around the world.
