Survey of literary genres, representative works: medieval period to 1700. Prerequisite: FRE 202 or above. Fulfills: GE 7; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Recognize works of French literature according to appropriate literary movements.
  2. Describe the characteristics of literary movements in France from the medieval period to 1700.
  3. Analyze works from these periods to compose essays showing how specific details in the works reflect the characteristics of such literary movements.
