BIO 307 - Field Natural History

Natural history of plants and animals with emphasis on ecosystems of New York state. Collections of flora and fauna required. Not open to biology majors. Lecture/Lab Hours: Two lectures, one three-hour field trip. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a knowledge proficiency and understanding of plant, insect, fungal, bird, amphibian, reptile and mammal natural history in ecosystems of New York state.
  2. Recognize and identify common species found in ecosystems of New York state.
  3. Demonstrate a knowledge proficiency in the behaviors and physical adaptations of organisms to their habitat and way of life.
