ATS 408 - Fibers IV

Self-directed study in selected fibers area pertaining to concepts and techniques related to a student's body of work. Development of a comprehensive series of work leading to the creation of a portfolio. Intensified study of contemporary fibers contexts and written documentation of the student's process. Prerequisite: ATS 308. Fulfills: LASR; PRES. Notes: The State University of New York College at Cortland reserves the right to select and retain indefinitely any student artwork done in connection with course work completed at the university.(3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Assess one's own art work and that of peers using the presentation critique form.
  2. Create a comprehensive portfolio implementing technical aspects of surface design and/or weaving.
  3. Execute a well-researched written artist's statement for a portfolio.
