ATS 201 - Drawing II

Drawing from nature, the figure, landscape, still life. Experimentation with various media. Frequent lectures, critiques, museum visits. Prerequisite: ATS 101. Fulfills: LASR. Notes: The State University of New York College at Cortland reserves the right to select and retain indefinitely any student artwork done in connection with course work completed at the university.(3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the process for creating compositions related to nature, landscape and figure drawing.
  2. Identify and implement the elements and principles of design used to create a composition through mark making.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of texture, light and space as they apply to drawing.
