ATH 121 - Art in the Ancient World

Art prior to Renaissance: architecture, sculpture and painting of Egypt, Near East, Greece, Rome, medieval Europe. Fulfills: GE 8; LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate visual literacy and awareness through the analysis of art dating between 30,000 BCE and 1600 CE.
  2. Demonstrate critical thinking skills through writing assignments and quizzes.
  3. Write within the discipline by investigating chosen topics, short writing assignments and answering short-essay exam questions.
