AFS 201 - Team and Leadership Fundamentals I Focuses on laying the foundation for teams and leadership. The topics include skills that will allow cadets to improve their leadership on a personal level and within a team. The courses will prepare cadets for their field training experience where they will be able to put the concepts learned into practice. The purpose is to instill a leadership mindset and to motivate sophomore students to transition from AFROTC cadet to AFROTC officer candidate. (1 cr. hr.) Frequency code F = offered in fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Summarize the importance of self-assessment to effective leadership.
- Describe that effective listening positively affects mission accomplishment.
- Identify the impact of followership in mission accomplishment.
- Describe the principles Full-Range Leadership.
- Describe the types of systematic problem-solving processes.
- Recognize the concept of motivation as it relates to individual performance and motivating subordinates.
- Describe the importance of and the relationship between standards and accountability.
