SOC 395 - The Politics of Crime Control

The roles of interest groups and social movements in the formulation of criminal justice policy in the United States. Case studies will include sentencing reform, decriminalization campaigns, drug control policy, the death penalty, victims' rights and police misconduct. Prerequisite: SOC 150, SOC 100 or ANT 102.
