REC 427 - Special Events Planning I The goal of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to explore the growing phenomenon of special events. REC 427: Special Events Planning I is a prerequisite to REC 428: Special Events Planning II and is considered to be an advanced recreation programming course that focuses on special events planning. Students will be introduced to topic areas such as social and cultural phenomenon of special events, programming planning, securing sponsorships, research and targeting, and marketing and publicity.
