COM 451 - Environmental Communication(O)Study and application of communication concepts and principles to awareness and management of the environment. A survey and analysis of the nature and sources of environmental issues and related educational programs. Topics include risk, cost-benefit analysis, experts-lay conflict, and global concerns. Emphasis is on how communication media and pressure groups set the agenda for environmental issues, influence public perception, and government policy.Prerequisites: COM 100 and EST 100.(3 cr. hr.)
