Communication Studies: Concentration in Journalism [JOUR]

The communication studies  concentration in journalism prepares students for careers in journalism and related fields, as well as how to critically examine journalism practice.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a broad understanding of various forms of communication as vehicles of human expression.
  2. Identify and conduct themselves as members of the profession. Use ethical guidelines and other professional standards related to the practice of communication. 
  3. Apply knowledge and skills of the communication process in the creation of meaningful content appropriate to their area of interest or concentration.
