The concentration in the Health Department is designed for health majors who are seeking careers in international health practice. The program is well grounded in the health, natural and social sciences. The concentration prepares health majors for entry-level positions with international agencies such as the World Health Organization, The United Nations Environment Program, United States Agency for International Development, United Nations Children's Fund, Pan American Health Organization, Planned Parenthood International, Food and Agricultural Organization, World Food Program, The United Nations Development Program, United States Agency for International Development, among others. Students also may choose to pursue advanced degrees in public and/or international health.

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills of a health literate health educator as currently defined by the field.
- Assess needs, resources and capacity to determine priorities for school health education.
- Plan effective, culturally and developmentally appropriate school health education curricula and programs.
- Develop and deliver health education based on current best practices in the field.
- Implement health education instruction so learners meet state and national standards in health education.
- Assess learner performance to improve instruction and learner outcomes.
- Plan and coordinate a school health education program based on current state and national frameworks.
- Serve as a resource person in health education.
- Communicate and advocate for health and school health education.
Program Standard Grade Point Average Requirement
The major GPA is calculated by all courses identified in the college catalog as required for the major. In addition, this program has an established program standard GPA which may be used to determine progress in the program.
