Professional Writing [PWRT]


Professional Writing offers a well-rounded, liberal arts education with courses in creative writing, editing, technical writing, business writing and writing with new media. For more information please visit the website at cortland.edu/profwriting/ or the English Department .

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:

  1. Construct a sustained and persuasive interpretive or analytical scholarly argument.
  2. Engage with the writing process through planning, drafting, reviewing, revising, and critiquing documents.
  3. Recognize their individual agency as rhetors as well as their embeddedness in larger social, material, and discursive systems.
