Recreation Management [RMGT]


Recreation Management combines advanced-level study in recreation management and administration with supporting management science courses in the Economics Department. The major prepares students to work at management-level positions in the diverse field of parks and recreation. This major is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Related Professions (COAPRT).   • Activity Requirement: at least two different recreation activities (2-6 cr. hr.)
  • Liberal Arts and Free Electives (0-3 cr. hr.)
  • First Aid Requirement: certification in First Aid/CPR/AED or higher

This certification is a prerequisite for REC 475: Internship in Recreation and Leisure Services and must be current for the duration of the REC 475 internship. Acceptable certifications can be found in the advisement manual.
