This major in the Geology Department  with a concentration in environmental science provides a broad-based program designed to meet the professional and graduate school demands of environmental geoscientists.

B. Elective Courses in Geology: 6 credit hours


Choose one course from Group A and an additional three credit hours from Group A or B to bring the total in Geology (GLY) courses to 35 credit hours. Students intending to seek licensure as a professional geologist are advised to take GLY 302 and GLY 469.

D. College Requirements: 36 credit hours


  • Composition and General Education Courses: 21-24 credit hours
  • Free Elective Courses: 12-15 credit hours
