The concentration in the Health Department is designed for health majors who are seeking careers in international health practice. The program is well grounded in the health, natural and social sciences. The concentration prepares health majors for entry-level positions with international agencies such as the World Health Organization, The United Nations Environment Program, United States Agency for International Development, United Nations Children’s Fund, Pan American Health Organization, Planned Parenthood International, Food and Agricultural Organization, World Food Program, The United Nations Development Program, United States Agency for International Development, among others. Students also may choose to pursue advanced degrees in public and/or international health.

Health Education with a concentration in International Health [HEC_INTH]
In addition to the requirements to fulfill the concentration in International Health listed below, students must fulfill all degree requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Education in Health Education [HEC] . A. Required Concentration Courses: 24 credit hours
Required Courses: Six credit hours
Group 1 – Choose Two: Six credit hours
Group 2 – Choose Two: Six credit hours
Group 3 – Choose Two: Six credit hours
B. Internship: Eight credit hours
Students are required to fulfill an eight-credit-hour fieldwork experience with an international health agency. Total Credit Hours Required for the concentration in International Health: 32
