Advanced Materials [ADVM] M.S.

The Master of Science in advanced materials is an interdisciplinary degree program combining both science (chemistry, physics, materials science and mathematics) and business. Students in this program will be broadly trained in the application of theory to practice.

Advanced Materials Program Requirements


PENDING SUNY and NYSED APPROVAL

A minimum of 36 credit hours of approved graduate work as described below is required for the M.S. in advanced materials.

A. Materials Science and Professional Science Core: Nine credit hours


B. Advanced Chemistry: 12 credit hours

D. Culminating Activity


M.S. candidates must successfully complete a six credit hour culminating activity in the form of a professional internship.

Additional Requirements


Other requirements for the award of the M.S. in Advanced Materials may be determined by the department and must be ascertained by students in consultation with the department graduate advisor.
