Description

The biology program at SUNY Cortland is designed to ensure that majors obtain a strong, comprehensive foundation in the central areas of biology and related sciences. The program also offers specialized study in many areas. The Biological Sciences Department offers more than 30 courses in diverse areas of biology. Together with a faculty advisor, a biology major can design a course of study suited to their interests, whether it is at the level of molecular, cellular, organismal or environmental biology. Biology majors can become certified to teach in grades 7-12, prepare to pursue health-related careers such as medicine or dentistry, or concentrate in environmental science.

  • Member of NSF Central NY LSAMP Alliance to increase diverse representation in STEM
  • University partner of the Creat Lakes Northern Forest Cooperative Studies Unit (CESU)
