Degrees and Admission Requirements

The Kinesiology Department offers two master of science degrees, the M.S. in Exercise Science and the M.S. in Athletic Training. The M.S. in Exercise Science degree program provides students with an in-depth study of the scientific aspects of exercise, sport and human movement. It prepares students for a variety of careers in fitness, wellness, sport, and associated industries, and can also be used as preparation for further graduate study in exercise science and allied health professions. The 30 credit hour degree can be completed in three semesters.

The M.S. in Athletic Training degree program prepares students to become certified athletic trainers. The 54 credit hour degree program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). Students completing the two-year program will be eligible to sit for the Board of Certification (BOC) examination, a requirement for becoming a certified athletic trainer.
