Description

Through the geography department, students may choose a program leading to the award of a bachelor of arts degree in geography that includes a 12 credit hour foreign language requirement. The bachelor of science program in geographic information systems incorporates specialization in computer techniques, environmental science, or demographics and business geographics (see GIS program below).

  • ESRI (Environmental Systems Research Institute) authorized learning center with 25 GIS workstations – learn advanced applications including network and 3D modeling applications
  • Global Positioning System (GPS) – master field survey techniques using the lab GPS base station and handheld units.
  • Internships – numerous opportunities with local, state and federal agencies and study abroad options at locations such as the Australia Zoo
  • Student-faculty research opportunities
