Program Descriptions and Admission Requirements
Master of Arts in History with a concentration in either United States, European or non-Western history
Master of Science in Education in Adolescence Education: Social Studies (7-12) with a concentration in history
The Master of Arts in history will benefit you if you are seeking a terminal M.A. or if you intend to go on for a Ph.D. in history at another institution. If you have an initial certificate or a provisional license in teaching secondary social studies, the M.A. in history will help you gain professional or permanent certification.
The Master of Science in Education in adolescence education: social studies is for you if you are teaching or intend to teach social studies in grades 7-12 and are seeking a professional certificate or permanent certification.
