Description

Study of chemistry prepares students for laboratory, sales and management positions in industry; for advanced study in all fields related to chemistry; for teaching careers in chemistry and related sciences. Students use modern chemical instrumentation and are actively involved in research projects. Learning proceeds through a balance of theoretical (classroom) and practical (laboratory) experiences. The chemistry program is approved by the American Chemical Society. A major in Biochemistry provides a strong foundation for post-graduate study in the field, and prepares students for health-science related careers including medicine, dentistry, allied health and pharmacy. Students with Biochemistry degrees also go onto careers in business, forensics, and the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.
