(C)Major historical arguments and historiographical issues in African American history from African origins to the present: origins and nature of slavery, rise of Jim Crow South, urban ghetto formation, civil rights movement. Special attention to teaching materials and methods.Prerequisites: 12 credit hours of undergraduate or graduate work in American history or permission of instructor.(3 cr. hr.)
