ATR 613 - Contemporary Topics in Athletic Training

Current trends in the clinical practice of athletic training. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
  1. Appraise contemporary athletic training practice concepts and how they apply to a variety of patient populations across the various practice settings of athletic training by utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines and trends to adhere to standards and best practice.
  2. Assess epidemiology of a variety of patient populations across the various practice settings of athletic training including utilizing evidence-based practice guidelines and trends to adhere to standards and best practice.
  3. Discuss biometrics and physiological monitoring systems and translate the data into effective preventive measures, clinical interventions, and performance enhancement.
  4. Demonstrate personal development in the following skills: oral and written communication, technology integration, critical thinking, and problem-solving as they relate to patient care and the practice of athletic training.
