AAS 311 - Dimensions of Racism

Examines racism and its concurrent configurations in America and other parts of the world. Explores the intellectual development of racism and illuminates the racialized relationships that exist between social institutions and their bearing on the lives of oppressed groups. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate fluency in the epistemological dimensions of racialized thought and its influence and impact on humanity.
  2. Analyze racialized practices in quality of life and social indicators.
  3. Evaluate the role of race in modernity.
