DNC 465 - Choreography and Improvisation Workshop

Develop skills and historical context as a choreographer. Prerequisites: DNC 201 and THT 220. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code C = offered at least once every two years

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Effectively compose a movement phrase that is fluid, expressive and well designed.
  2. Demonstrate in movement a clear understanding of the various elements of dance design.
  3. Discuss the history and contributions of at least two choreographers that have made significant contributions to the art of dance.
  4. Improvise a movement or dance phrase in response to music or other stimuli.
