EXS 532 - Exercise Prescription

The design and supervision of appropriate prescriptive exercise programs for individuals from various fitness levels and medical conditions. Not open to students with credit for EXS 432.  Prerequisite: EXS 397. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code O = offered occasionally

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Explain physiology of specific diseases that one might encounter in a career in exercise prescription/clinical setting/fitness setting.
  2. Develop appropriate exercise prescriptions for various clinical populations.
  3. Devise proper cardiovascular and resistance training programs for various clinical disease populations.
  4. Discuss lifestyle barriers to physical activity in order to increase adherence to exercise programs.
