SHH 350 - Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing

A survey of the anatomy and physiology for respiration, phonation, articulation, hearing, and nervous systems focusing on skeletal structures, muscles, tendons, nerves, and neurological processes necessary for speech and hearing.      Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and label major anatomical structures and systems for speech-language-hearing. 
  2. Describe the physiological functions of these structures and systems.
  3. Describe the relationship of the anatomy and physiology of these structures and systems to the professional responsibilities of the audiologist and/or speech-language pathologist.
