PSY 489 - Forensic Psychology Seminar

An in-depth examination of a specific area of forensic psychology with an emphasis on the critical analysis of research and application of research in a way that aligns with ethical guidelines and standards of practice. Prerequisites: PSY 101 and PSY 370; POL 202 or CRM 202; and three additional credits in the forensic psychology minor. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Critically analyze research related to the selected topic.
  2. Apply research to hypothetical scenarios in a way that aligns with standards of practice and ethical guidelines.
  3. Identify the benefits and potential downfalls of how to address ethical or practical issues related to the practice of forensic psychology.
