HUS 301 - Case Management in Human Services Primary concepts and process of case management, including: documentation, the interview, assessment, developing a service plan, managing information, networking, monitoring services, referral and successful termination and discharge. A required field observation experience is integrated with classroom instruction to facilitate the transition from theory to practice. Prerequisites: HUS 100 and HLH 201. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the basic principles of case management.
- Complete case management forms, written intake interviews, and case evaluations.
- Develop case management services plans and services monitoring agreements.
- Apply appropriate ethical standards in case management.
- Use the communication necessary for the development of appropriate relationships in case management.
