COM 321 - Writing for Public Relations

Writing techniques utilized in the fields of public relations and advertising with a focus on honing writing skills, including press releases, fundraising solicitation, speeches, and copy for print and web distribution. Prerequisite: COM 203. Fulfills WI. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Use and analyze information sources to create various forms of public relations content.
  2. Generate and format public relations information in written forms for distribution on various platforms.
  3. Strategize and develop a public relations campaign.
