THT 425 - Acting III: Scene Study

Expand and develop techniques explored in THT 220. Focus on developing the actor's ability to play active truthful scenes in a variety of styles. May be repeated once for a maximum of six credit hours. Prerequisite: THT 220. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Apply strong tactics and verbs to create dynamic choices within scene work.
  2. Employ Stanislavski's Acting System.
  3. Practice different performance methodologies, including Meisner and Chekhov.
