SPM 255 - Sport Event Management

Overview of all elements involved in sport event management. Key component of course is the planning, organizing, marketing and conducting of a sport event on campus during the semester. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code F = offered in fall

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Analyze the pre-event, event, and post-event process (such as scheduling, staffing, risk management, event sustainability, and event promotion) exhibited at a sport event.
  2. Describe the important considerations in the conceptual planning, operational planning, implementation and evaluation stages of an event.
