SHH 481 - Clinical Practicum II

Supervised observation of evaluation and treatment of individuals with communication disorders culminating in implementation of a supervised therapy session. Lectures include teaching techniques for groups and individuals, clinical report writing, remediation techniques and professional issues.  Prerequisites: Prerequisites: SHH 480, 477, consent of instructor. Completion of the prior felony inquiry form (PFI) in order to register for this class. (2 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. List and describe resources such as apps, websites and activities appropriate to the therapeutic process in a variety of communication disorders.
  2. Describe several evidence-based treatment techniques in a variety of communication disorders.
  3. Demonstrate beginning clinical, professional and report-writing skills.
