SHH 475 - Technology in Communication Disorders An introduction to the types of technology used in the practice of speech-language pathology and audiology: augmentative communication, computer applications, classroom FM systems and assistive devices for the hearing impaired. Prerequisite: SHH 480 or 481, either of which may be taken concurrently. (1 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe the uses of computer technology in the assessment and treatment of Communication Disorders.
- Describe AAC assessment areas and procedures.
- Identify and describe a variety of AAC devices.
