REC 402 - Management of Recreation Resources

Resource management principles, practices, policies and programs for operation of wide spectrum of public and private recreation areas and facilities. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)
Frequency code B = offered at least once per year.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify and explain, with references to history and the present, the physical and human dimensions of park, recreation and natural resource management.
  2. Explain how the design and condition of recreation facilities affect the activities, experiences and benefits derived by visitors and other stakeholders.
  3. Develop a plan to maintain a recreation area or facility as close as possible to its original or desired condition.
  4. Identify site and visitor management practices used to achieve and maintain desired social conditions and visitor experiences in recreation areas and facilities.
