PHI 110 - Critical Thinking and Argumentation Exercises and principles designed to enhance critical thinking and evaluation of arguments. In addition to a focus on philosophical inquiry, classes also concentrate on daily situations such as ordinary conversations, reading newspapers and advertising. Not open to students with credit for COM 241. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code B = offered at least once per year
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify the logical structure of arguments.
- Identify common forms of logical fallacies, both formal and informal.
- Apply logical techniques of analysis to real-world cases.
