PED 306 - Adapted Aquatics To provide students with the skills and knowledge to provide individuals with disabilities with appropriate aquatic activities, prepare individuals with disabilities for lifetime fitness pursuits through aquatic activities, advocate for appropriate aquatic programs for individuals with disabilities, and modify the aquatic environment for participation of individuals with disabilities in the least restrictive environment. (1 cr. hr.) Frequency code F = offered in fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Explain, modify and apply aquatic safety and pool rules and procedures for individuals with disabilities.
- Implement functional knowledge of equipment available and appropriate use of equipment for individuals with disabilities.
- Apply teaching techniques and modifications for teaching swimming for individuals with disabilities.
