HLH 330 - College Health Promotion

Designed to develop program planning, assessment and evaluation skills pertaining to college health issues. Will foster the practical application of college health best practices, theories and models. Ideal for students preparing for careers in college or community health. Prerequisite: three credit hours of HLH course work. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Describe how to use a needs assessment to plan and implement a program.
  2. Define strategies for recruiting community organizations, resource people, and potential participants for support and assistance in college health program planning.
  3. Define current college-level health promotion best practice interventions.
  4. Identify valid educational resources about college health needs and interests.
  5. Explain the importance of coordinating health education services on a college campus.
