HIS 290 - Historical Methods Introduction to historical profession and processes of historical research, interpretation and writing. Prerequisite: HIS 100 or 101 or 110 or 111 or 200 or 201. Must be a sophomore-level history or adolescence education: social studies and history major. Fulfills: LASR; PRES; WI. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code A = offered every semester
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Distinguish between primary and secondary sources.
- Develop a research plan for a historical writing project.
- Demonstrate their understanding of primary and secondary source databases for historical research.
