GLY 367 - Geomorphology

Processes of glaciers, rivers, mass wasting, wind and weathering, and their resulting landforms. Methods of geomorphic analysis and the evolution of landscapes. Prerequisite: GLY 261. Lecture/Lab Hours: Two lectures, one three-hour laboratory, field trips. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Recall key definitions and facts of geomorphology and Quaternary science.
  2. Explain how geomorphic processes operate to create landforms and landscapes.
  3. Apply geomorphic concepts to environmental problems and landscape histories.
  4. Analyze and interpret geomorphic data.
  5. Synthesize geomorphic information in oral presentations.
