EXS 111 - Computer Applications in Exercise Science

An introduction to computer applications and technology used in Exercise Science; topics include operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, databases, communications, the Internet, and other exercise specific software and hardware. Not open to those having credit for CAP 100. (3 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Formulate online work groups, share and analyze data, and generate reports using multimedia applications.
  2. Analyze the development of computers through history.
  3. Explain linkage between digital technology and the application of Exercise Science principles.
  4. Outline the basics of data collection and academic research within the Kinesiology field.
  5. Demonstrate proficiency in using the primary applications in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
