CRM 375 - Sociology of Law Analysis of the ways laws shape society and vice versa. Topics include examining the influence of the context in which laws are made and used, the formation of the US legal system, the micro and macro practices that create and and enact the law, and the role of the law in both social conflict and conflict management. Prerequisite: ANT 102 or SOC 150. Also listed as SOC 375. Fulfills: LASR. (3 cr. hr.)

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Summarize the primary components of the U.S. legal system.
- Analyze relationships among social norms, legal structures, and both prosocial and antisocial behavior.
- Apply the interactive nature of legal structures to current events.
