ATS 104 - Ceramics I Forming processes aimed at discovering creative, structural, plastic potentials inherent in ceramics materials. Frequent technical lectures, demonstrations, group critiques and outside reading in historical, technical aspects of pottery design and construction. Fulfills: GE 8, GEAR; LASR. Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Reproduce the forming processes (i.e., coil making and slab construction) inherent in ceramic materials.
- Identify the elements and principles of design used to analyze ceramic form.
- Demonstrate an understanding of pottery design and construction.
