BIO 206 - Fundamentals of Human Anatomy and Physiology

A systems overview of human anatomy and physiology, emphasizing the structure and function of the nervous, skeletal, muscular, endocrine, digestive, renal, circulatory, and respiratory systems. Emphasis on anatomical and physiological terminology and its use to recognize, describe and explain human body structure and function at rest and during activity. Not open to students with credit for BIO 301 or BIO 302 Fulfills: LASR. (4 cr. hr.)

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Identify the anatomical structures of the nervous, skeletal, muscular, endocrine, digestive, renal, circulatory, and respiratory systems and explain the physiological functions of each structure at rest and during activity.    
  2. Apply terminology to effectively communicate information related to anatomy and physiology.
  3. Demonstrate laboratory procedures used to examine anatomical structures and evaluate physiological functions of each organ system including interpretation of physiological data.
