ICC 146 - Academic Writing Across Disciplines Instructs international students (students whose first language is not English) and TESOL majors in academic process writing and genre-specific language features. Special emphasis is also placed on discipline-specific writing assignments. Prerequisite: Consent of department. (3 cr. hr.) Frequency code S = offered in spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Recognize and use register-specific language when interacting with their peers and their professors.
- Analyze and critique academic language when reading scholarly work, writing papers, and completing university assignments.
- Develop, revise, and compose the written and spoken language of academic disciplines and genre-specific discourse.
